Makeup haul and first impressions.

Your girl’s obsessed with makeup. It’s been a hot minute since I last posted about makeup and a haul is due!

Over the past couple of months, I’ve accumulated a good amount of products and I thought of sharing them here on the blog. I personally enjoy hauls as I get a heads up whether the makeup products are worth the buy or not. So alongside this haul, I’ll walk you through the products by sharing my first impressions. Enjoy!

Inglot Cosmetics

The first product is a lipstick from Inglot Cosmetics in Shade 140. It has this deep raspberry shade. It’s quite pigmented with a slight shimmer to it. I find this perfect for a night out with friends!

I always hear people rave about NYX lip products. It’s about time I try some of their famous liquid lipsticks! I chose to try their Liquid Suede collection in four shades: Cherry Skies, Kitten Heels, Soft Spoken and Tea & Cookies.

Cherry Skies and Kitten Heels belong to the red fam of lippies; with Cherry Skies being deeper and darker in shade, while Kitten Heels being brighter. I’d recommend Kitten Heels for that classy red lip look and Cherry Skies for that grunge look. Soft Spoken is in between shades of brown and red. Though it appears slightly dark on the lips, I still find this suitable for an everyday neutral look.* Tea & Cookies, on the other hand, is a shade I’m not too sure of, to be honest with you.** It appears very brightly pink on the lips, which I’m not a fan of, but if you’re someone who loves vivid lip colors, this one is the shade for you!

I’d give the formula an A+ as the products are very easy to apply, quite long lasting, highly pigmented and really affordable. Now I know why everybody raves about NYX! The collection also has a variety of colors. Currently, I’m eyeing Sandstorm, which is a brilliant nude shade. Be mindful though, that these liquid lipsticks give off a matte finish. As with every matte product, it’s important to apply a primer beforehand, to do away with dry, chapped lips.

*If ever you’ve tried Cream O’ Spice from MAC, this shade is very similar to that. A perfect dupe, if you ask me.
**I purchased this mistakingly thinking it’ll appear brownish pink.

It's one of those days when mom impulsively goes shopping then realizes that she doesn't like/need her purchase as much, and hands it over to me! Hihi. Mom bought Lancôme's Grandiôse Smudgeproof Mascara (it's probably the sales talk that got to her) when she realized how she doesn't really need this mascara. She thought it was just reasonable to give it to me since I use mascara daily. Boy, how lucky!

I'm honestly procrastinating its consumption just because it's sooo pretty! I mean look at the black rose on the cover! I've opened it though and the formula comes out bluish-black, but appears brilliant black when applied. It has a wide angle fan effect brush which accentuates the length of your lashes. True to its claim, it doesn't smudge nor does it clump. It stays completely fluid; no unneccessary chunks of product forming on your lashes.

When it comes to long term use, I have yet to experience the magic of this wand and my expectations are high!

I purchased three products from MAC: two lipsticks and a concealer.

For the lipsticks, I have an Amplified Crème lipstick in the shade Brick-O-La and a Retro Matte lipstick in the shade Runway Hit. I’d say both shades are suitable for everyday makeup. Brick-O-La is darker wine red, while Runway Hit is a lighter coral-pink shade. Formula-wise, I prefer Amplified Crème over Retro Matte just because it’s more hydrating on the lips; though I still won’t reject Retro Matte as it’s still a satisfying product on its own. Among the lipstick products I’ve tried so far, I must say that MAC is supreme. MAC lipsticks are truly long lasting and very pigmented. They don’t chip off at all and remain on your lips as long as possible. Though a little costly for a lipstick, it’s still a good investment for quality makeup.

The concealer I bought is the Select Moisturecover in Shade NW20. Rarely do I apply foundation for my everyday makeup, so a good concealer comes in very handy when hiding my under-eye circles. This concealer doesn’t cake, blends very well, and lasts very long on your skin, even without the use of a foundation. With just this concealer sealed off with powder, I’m good to go. I would repurchase this as one of my makeup essentials.

It’s also a bonus that MAC products are really fragrant!

For Clinique, I have these Chubby Stick Moisturizing Colour Lip Balms in shades 01 Poppin' Poppy & 03 Mightiest Marachino. The lip balms are very moisturizing. They color your lips just as well too. Though the shades appear slightly different when applied*, I personally have no issues with that and still wear them quite often. I also have the Chubby Stick Shadow Tint for Eyes in 01 Bountiful Beige. The shadow tint is good for natural eye makeup, especially as an eyeshadow base. This one appears more of powdery than creamy. It has this slight shimmer mixed with it's beautiful nude shade.

I find all of the products just so wearable for everyday, especially if you're going for a light makeup look. These are the products you use when you don't want anything heavy on your skin yet still want to achieve a natural glow.

*Poppin' Poppy appeared more pinkish than coral on me. With the orange packaging, I expected a nice coral finish. Pink works fine though!

Benefit Cosmetics

For the longest time I’ve been wanting to try Benefit’s blushes and bronzers, so when they released their Cheekathon, I knew I had to get myself one! I find it very convenient to have an entire set for color and contour. So it’s basically all of Benefit’s blushes and bronzers in one palette. The Cheekathon consists of Dandelion, Hoola, Rockateur, Dallas & Coralista.

For the blushes, I like to use either Dandelion and Coralista, depending on my makeup look. Dandelion is soft pink with very minimal shimmer, while Coralista is a summery-orange blush with a generous amount of glitter. Rocketeur, on the other hand, is a strong champagne shimmer, which can actually even be used as a highlighter. Hoola is the favorite among many, but I personally prefer Dallas as it works best for my yellow undertones.

Cheekathon is really good for everyday use. You get a very natural finish. Not too heavy, not too flashy. Just the right blend of pigment to enhance your featues. I'd highly recommend it for your daily makeup routine!

That concludes this makeup haul! I hope you enjoyed it; may it be for future reference or pure passion for makeup.

Stay beautiful, dear readers!
